COLOR TOUR UPDATE 10/04/2011:
I just got off the phone with the Comfort Suites Hotel in Northeast Indy (Fishers, Indiana), they have arranged for the West Michigan Firebird Club to receive a discounted rate as long as we reserve at least 5 rooms. I reserved our room, a 2 Queen bed Suite which includes a fold out sofa bed, the rate for this type of room assuming we get at least 5 rooms reserved is $84.55 + tax. (We have two rooms already reserved only need 3 more.)
Here's the logic I used when booking my room...because of the extra sofa bed we're able to let another member room with us and then split the cost...this should help keep the cost down for all.

We'll be arriving at the hotel on Saturday Oct 22nd and checking out on Sunday Oct 23rd. This hotel is only 8 miles away from the where Steve has his facility that we'll be touring.

Sunday October 2nd, 2011 Quaker Steak & Lube 4515 28th St Kentwood, MI 49512 Saturday-Sunday October 22nd & 23rd WMFC 3rd Annual Color Tour Thursday November 10th @ 6:00pm – WMFC members have been invited to the GR Auto Gallery Novemberfest. This is basically an "open house" style event with food, beverages, entertainment, and an opportunity to check out some cool cars.
I’ve checked their current inventory and there should be a couple Firebirds to peek your interest.
WMFC monthly meeting- Members will be meeting at the Quaker Steak & Lube Restaurant located on 28th St in Grand Rapids @ 6:00pm. We'll be finalizing the travel plans for this year's Color Tour, and discussing/scheduling future events. Come join us to find out what we're all about and see what we have planned for the rest of year.
WMFC Color Tour- This year's color tour has us traveling south to Indianapolis, Indiana to take part in touring Steve Hamilton's Firebird collection. We'll be meeting Saturday morning at the Saugatuck exit (exit 41) on southbound I-196. The plan is to meet at the Shell Gas Station located just off the exit at 7:30 and leave there as a group at 8:00am.
We'll mostly travel US-31 south thru Indiana, but may make a couple diversions to do some sight seeing along the way. We'll be spending Saturday night in the Indy area and going to the Motorspeedway on Sunday before heading home. This should be a fun time, make sure you mark your calendar's.
